Gong bath: sound meditation and relaxation

The Gong Bath is a sound and meditation experience that relies on listening to gongs and other sounds in a calm environment. It is not a medical treatment and it does not replace regular health care or medical advice.

An experience of listening and attention

Lying down or sitting comfortably, each person listens to long, deep, or lighter sounds. Some people find it a suitable moment for rest, breathing, or meditation; others simply enjoy the sensory experience. The effects vary from one person to another and no specific effect is guaranteed.

How does a gong bath work?

A gong bath usually takes place on a mat, with a pillow and a blanket. A guide or instructor manipulates the sounds and silences during the session. The volume should remain comfortable: everyone should be able to move away, take a break, or stop if they do not feel comfortable.

The term 'gong bath' describes a sound immersion, not a therapeutic protocol. Gongs can produce very different sounds depending on their size and the way they are played. The interest of the session lies in its atmosphere, listening, and the time one takes for oneself.

What one can reasonably expect

A session may offer a moment of calm, help to disconnect from external rhythm or accompany a meditation practice. It does not treat a disease, pain, trauma, stress, high blood pressure, or depression. In case of symptoms, ongoing treatment, or health questions, the appropriate contact remains the healthcare professional who follows you.

A peaceful moment just two steps from Champ-de-Mars

The sound relaxation provides another way to slow down, more sensory than muscular. In a noisy city, taking time without a phone or solicitation can already make a difference.

GONG Paris is located at 5 rue Desaix, in the 15th arrondissement. From the Eiffel Tower, Champ-de-Mars, Dupleix, La Motte-Picquet-Grenelle or Bir-Hakeim, the address allows for a simple and easy-to-organize pause.
